Just as The Flash and Arrow have gotten back to work in time for Comic-Con 2017, so too have DC’s Legends of Tomorrow rejoined the Waverider – with a twist. Not only have our first photos of the Legends back in action arrived, but also production news that might raise eyebrows for the premiere.

The CW’s Black Lightning stands somewhat open-ended, with its own separate universe and likely 2018 premiere. Its first trailer likewise only hinted at a major villain, but new comments from producer Salim Akil suggest a familiar DC villain will provide blubbery menace for Season 1.

The CW’s Black Lightning will follow Supergirl’s lead in sticking to its own universe at first, but the electrifying new drama will eventually add DC characters of its own. One of them might be fan-favorite Static, as executive producer Salim Akil offers new insight into how Black Lightning will connect to the DC and CW universes.

Arrow Season 6 has more immediate concerns than whatever new mission Oliver picks up after a five-year crusade, but questions remain if the CW drama will more closely resemble its comic roots. Specifically, will Oliver Queen finally make good on that facial hair Stephen Amell has been dreading?

The CW’s Black Lightning may not have filmed an official pilot, or premiere until midseason, but the electric hero is nonetheless ready to light it up. The first trailer is here, along with some bad news for those expecting Black Lightning to cross over with the other CW heroes.

Far be it for The CW to pass on a fifth DC superhero drama. Having failed to strike at FOX, Black Lightning is officially joining its costumed compatriots at The CW with a series order.

The CW’s FOX-rescued Black Lightning didn’t actually film an entire pilot in time for May’s Upfronts, and may not join the other four DC dramas on the network this fall. Instead, reports indicate that a potential Black Lightning pickup could see the new CW series held for 2018 at the earliest.

After five years’ worth of flashbacks, Arrow is likely to reinvent itself for Season 6 this fall. Missions will change, cast will change, and certain figures that defined the early years may become scarce. In fact, John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn may exit the Arrow-verse altogether, according to the actor’s cryptic tease.

Just as Arrow suits up for its final episodes of Season 5, the end is already here. The end for all CW shows, that is, as everyone from Supergirl to Jane The Virgin and those sexy murder-teens at Riverdale set season (or series) finale dates from May through June.

No one was exactly surprised when FOX’s Black Lightning pilot moved to join its fellow DC heroes on The CW, but there may be more changes in store than a network. A new pilot report suggests that The CW Black Lightning didn’t end up using FOX’s treatment of the character, and won’t actually film a formal pilot before pickup.
