We’re hard-pressed to imagine The CW adding yet a fifth DC superhero to its airwaves, but the FOX-transplanted Black Lightning is nonetheless ready to strike. See for yourself in the first official production photo, as Hart of Dixie alum Cress Wiliams suits up in an electrifying costume.

For all we’ve seen of this week’s Flash and Supergirl musical “Duet,” early promos have been notably devoid of actual singing. That all changes with the help of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom, as a new clip sees Barry and Kara becoming “Super Friends” with our first original song.

Hard as it is to imagine yet a fifth DC drama joining the CW ranks, Black Lightning continues to strike. Following the addition of Cress Williams as title hero Jefferson Pierce, the new super-pilot has cast the character’s comic daughters as well, adding Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain as Anissa and Jennifer.

If you thought the cord-cutters’ market was aggressive before, just wait until you get a load of YouTube TV. The online video staple announced the full scope of its live TV bundle, complete with unlimited cloud DVR and a moderate monthly subscription fee.

We still don’t know the exact identity of Supergirl Season 2's big bad, but we’re starting to think the Girl of Steel is going to war with all of ‘90s genre TV. After Lois & Clark star Teri Hatcher, latest to join Season 2 in a villainous role is Hercules himself, Kevin Sorbo in a mysterious role.

We wouldn’t call the new Supergirl extended 2017 trailer full of “friendly” faces, but certainly familiar ones. Not only is Livewire back, and ready to murder her super-nemesis, but the new sneak peek reveals a glimpse of those pesky crossover Dominators wreaking some additional havoc within the Supergirl universe.

Flash producers confirmed curiously early into Season 3 that Grodd would be back for a two-part episode, with little word of the apparent Gorilla City adventure since. Now, not only do bosses reveal which episodes will take us back into Grodd’s orbit, but also what role Keith David will play in the effort.

Kevin Smith will return to the DC TV-verse a third time for Supergirl’s 2017 premiere, and he’s brought Harley Quinn with him. Not that Harley Quinn, mind you, but his daughter, who forms the centerpiece of a new synopsis for our “Supergirl Lives” midseason premiere.

The CW has enough superheroes for one lifetime, between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, to say nothing of DC outliers like FOX’s Gotham. Well, get ready for another superhero (or villain?) to join the ranks in 2017, as those in the know say there’s another DC TV series on the way
