We could be approaching one of the strangest weather weeks in recent memory in Missouri as multiple systems could bring everything from tornadoes to snowfall or perhaps even both between now and the end of March.

I follow many meteorologists who keep a close eye on weather systems that affect Missouri and the Midwest in general. One is POW Ponder on Weather who noticed an interesting pattern in the jet stream that will begin to bring volatile weather to the area starting March 25 through March 27. It looks like a horseshoe in the jet stream.

That will result in a stormy start to the week where Monday could see a line of thunderstorms that will bring snow in either northern Missouri and/or southern Iowa. This is the European model from Pivotal Weather. The blue area is snow while the green would be thunderstorms. Missouri is right on the line where that moisture will change to snow.

YouTube personality Max Velocity also sees an interesting last week of March for Missouri.

Extreme meteorologist Reed Timmer who gained fame in the Tornado Alley reality series is following the same system which he believes will lead to supercell development over much of the south and reaching northward into most of Missouri, too.

The point of this is there's an old saying for March in Missouri which says "in like a lamb, out like a lion". We entered March "like a lamb" with very mild weather. If these computer models are accurate, Missouri will definitely end March "like a lion". Watch the forecasts from the National Weather Service as we get closer to the weekend so you know what kind (if any) wild weather to expect next week.
