Gravy Lovers, Rejoice! You Finally Have Your Own…Roller Coaster?

I don't know about this one, guys. I just... don't even know what to think about anything anymore.

So basically, I'm a person who loves roller coasters.  Loves 'em.  I've been to my fair share of parks over the years.  Disney World, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Alton Towers, Dollywood... I love a good theme park.   One that I've heard of that I've never been to is a place in Indiana called Holiday World.

It used to be called Santa Claus Land, and, well, you get the idea. It was/is a big theme park devoted to different holidays.  It has areas that celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July. It's been around since pretty much right after World War II. It originally was founded by a guy who came to the town of Santa Claus Indiana, and thought it was a total rip off that there wasn't an actual dude named SANTA CLAUS in the town of Santa Claus.  Sure, they have a bunch of things that are Santa adjacent, like a museum and what  not, but no Santa?  What the heck!

So, he decided to make Holiday World as a kind of "retirement project".  You know, a place where kids could come all year and have fun.  But... Holiday World has something new coming.  I guess I'll just let them explain it.

So.  Yeah.  That's a thing.  For real.  I am totally not making that up. At first I thought it was going to be some kind of messed up water ride.  Like Splash Mountain, but...with gravy instead of water.  Luckily I was very, very wrong.

They just announced that they're adding the Good Gravy thrill ride to the Thanksgiving section next year, in a corner called "Stuffing Springs."  Which. I'm sorry.  That just sounds wrong.  Good Gravy was designed as a FAMILY "boomerang" coaster, where a three-year-old could potentially ride with their grandparents, so it won't be TOO extreme.

It does seem a bit much to have a whole ride centering around... let's be honest, a hit or miss condiment.  You've had great gravy, you've had bad gravy, but did you ever think it was a topic needing to be explored via the roller coaster?  Probably not.  I don't know about ya'll, but... even though I am generally not a fan of gravy.... I WANT TO GO TO THERE.  I love theme parks in general, but one with a ridiculous theme? Count. Me. In. Just shut up and take my money.  It might be a bit of a drive, though, because the site gives directions from St Louis...which is, course, three hours away from us.

Drive on I-64 east for approximately 3 hours; take Exit #57-A South and head south on US 231 to the State Road 162 exit, which will take you directly into the town of Santa Claus and to the Holiday World parking lots. Distance from the Interstate is approximately 9 miles. (Approximate travel time: 3 hours)

So... I guess we'll just have to plan accordingly.  Or unless anyone wants to lovingly sponsor my trip to go, or something.
