I recently wrote an article talking about how The Chicago Bears put forth plans for a lakefront stadium in Chicago, that in my mind, were mind-blowing. As someone who grew up in Chicago, their plans got me excited about what a revamped lakefront with a dome for the Bears could be for the City. Now that same firm has released conceptual renderings of what a domed stadium would look like for the Chiefs if they cross state lines and built a facility near The Legends and Kansas Speedway in Wyandotte County. While I think they lack the wow factor of their Chicago plans, they're still pretty cool.

That firm is Manica, and as Chiefs fans we're pretty familiar with their work. They're the firm behind Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans. By the way, the firm's head, David Manica is from Kansas City and a Chiefs fan.

Fox 4 in Kansas City obtained the renderings and video of Manica's vision for the Chiefs if they relocate near the Legends. According to Fox 4, an unnamed developer had Manica create the vision as part of that developer's desire to bring the Chiefs across state lines to Kansas. By Thursday the renderings were posted on Manica's website, without any commentary from the firm.

The plans are strong, interesting, and frankly look fairly cool. Yet, I'll be honest they don't blow me away like Manica's plans for The Chicago Bears. Maybe that's because that spaceship revision they did to Soldier Field ruined that stadium if you ask me. Maybe it's because I have a soft spot for The Truman Sports Complex, and I'd like to see both teams playing there. Or maybe, and I hate to admit this because I'm not a fan of the Royals moving to a more congested part of Kansas City, it has to do with the Bears building in the City on the Lakefront.

Without further comment from me, here are the renderings Manica did for the unnamed developer trying to lure The Chiefs to Kansas, I wonder if the Chiefs could build something like this at the Sports Complex.

What The Chiefs Move To the Legends In Kansas Would Look Like

Sports architecture firm Manica released renderings for what a new home for The Kansas City Chiefs might look like if they moved to Kansas out by the Legends near Children's Mercy Park, The Kansas Speedway, and Legends Field.
