Kids, earlier this week I went over some of the horrors that are known as R. Kelly and the least romantic song ever.  Now, for your actual Valentine sweetness, I'm going to straight up give you a playlist of some of the most loving and romantic songs ever.  You can thank me later.

Well, I'm not going to list off five obvious songs, let's put it that way.  That's not my style, I think we all know that one.   But this first one, I would think, is pretty famous. Yes, apparently there are people who haven't heard this song.

1.  The Beatles - Here, There, and Everywhere.

It's just a simple song about being in love and feeling like you're the only two people in the world.  I think everyone deserves that moment from time to time.  Let Macca take you there via a track off 'Revolver' from 1966.

2.    Mumford and Sons - Reminder

This one is off of their new album, 'Babel,' for which they  just won the freggin Grammy.  No big deal or anything.  This is a straightforward, sweet song about keeping your significant other in mind when you're separated or apart in some way.   I'd imagine for Marcus (the lead singer/lyricist), that'd be like when they're on tour or something.

3.   Miranda Lambert - Making Plans

We know here on Bob FM you guys like a little of the 80s, 90s, and whatever.  So here's some whatever.  Miranda Lambert is a popular country singer these days and this song is an album track off of her previous album, 'Revolution.'  It's all about being established and comfortable with someone, truly, where they know you and you know them and life is good.

4.  The Velvet Underground - I'm Sticking With You

This is a song you could mistake for comical, at first. It's almost childlike in its first minute or so.  When Lou Reed takes over the vocals, though, you can start to appreciate what's really being expressed here.  It's a beautiful song about being stronger with the person you love.

5.  Buena Vista Social Club - Chan Chan

Admittedly, I don't speak Spanish.  I heard this song in the original documentary feature from a few years ago.  As I understand it, the lyrics are about trying to reach someone that you really care about, and have a lot of feeling for.  I can't express that very poetically, and this song manages to do it.  I don't mind that I can't understand exactly what's being said;  sometimes it's better not to know.

So there you have it.  Five romantical songs for your Valentine's Day.  Why don't you tell me some of your favorite romance songs?

Romantically yours,

Behka
