Three people were injured in a UTV accident that occurred Sunday in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound Kabota UTV, driven by 67-year-old Salvatore G. Schembri of Warsaw, was at 28797 High Ridge Drive around 5:10 p.m., when Schembri was backing out and went over a ledge, landing in the water, Schembri and his two passengers, 66-year-old Catherine A. Schembri of Warsaw, and 66-year-old Kimberly A. Taylor of Parkhill, suffered serious injuries.

The Schembris were flown to University Hospital by Life Flight, while Taylor was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

The UTV had moderate damage.

Benton County Deputies assisted the four Troopers on scene.
