On Monday night (April 23), the Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education approved the hiring of Mrs. Stephanie Jackson, assistant principal at Smith-Cotton Junior High School, as principal at Parkview Elementary School. She succeeds Mrs. Kelly Sobaski, who last week announced her retirement, effective at the end of the current school year.

In closed session on Monday, January 28, 2013, the Board of Education of the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Jason Curry to be the Smith-Cotton Jr. High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year.  In addition to hiring Curry, the Sedalia #200 School District, hired Mr. Wade Norton to be the Smith-Cotton High School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year as well.

Over the weekend, the 2013 S-C Lady Tiger McDonald's Classic wrapped up with a thrilling championship game. Nixa was crowned the champion of the tournament over Hickman in one of the best match-ups you will get to see before the state tournament.  The Smith-Cotton girls won the consolation game and looks to build off that win as they prep for conference play.

Kids, last night I had the chance to go and see some youth art at the Liberty Center.  The work was done by many different students from the Smith-Cotton Junior High School.  There were many different kinds of art, from crafts to pencil work and some other designs.  It was a pretty decent crowd when I was there, and these young people did some amazing stuff.
