In years past, the annual Firefighters Memorial Motorcycle Ride has been something our town has looked forward to. This year, the ride was expanded to include a whole day's worth of events that took place all over downtown Sedalia.

Kiwanis tries to serve children and youth using two approaches. One attempts to improve the quality of life directly through activities promoting health, education, etc. The other tries to encourage leadership and service among youth. They're going to be funding those goals with a great event coming up: their Trivia Night.
The Sedalia Kiwanis are always working to do everything they can for our kids and others in need. They're working to stay busy and get busier, recruiting volunteers and fundraising left and right. They're doing some great stuff coming up this weekend, and next weekend, to that purpose!

When I was a kid, I remember standing up in the front seat of the car and explaining to my mom that I couldn't sit down, because I was from Mars. Aliens don't need seat belts, you see. She, um, did not take that lightly.
Kids, when I was young, I have memories of stuff that I did that would surely make most responsible mothers and fathers blush, or at the very least shake their heads and look disapprovingly at me. While I was never a real rebel or a person to get in trouble, I guess things were just different in the 80s and 90s.
