Last night, (Oct. 1) the Sacred Heart faculty and Smith-Cotton faulty went head to head at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the campus of State Fair Community College. In the world of Junior College Basketball, there are three seasons: the regular season is November through December.  Then comes region basketball, followed by the post-season.  Both State Fair teams had great regular seasons, with the girls going 12-3 and undefeated at home, and the guys going 11-5.  Region 16 is one of the toughest in the country this season for both men's and women's basketball

The Lady Roadrunners remained undefeated last night by defeating Lincoln Trails Community College 91-58.  Mia Wesley had a double double in the first half! 12 points 10 rebounds for the sophomore guard. The 2012-2013 basketball season got under way this past weekend at State Fair Community College during the McDonald's Classic.The Lady Roadrunners played two tough teams to start the season off.  They defeated Vincennes Community College 74-50 and beat Kaskaskia 63-57 on Saturday night. The ladies return back at home Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against Lincoln Trails.

Say the name "Mr. Bob" around State Fair Community College, and everyone knows who you are talking about.  He was probably the biggest Lady Roadrunner basketball fan ever.  Bob Oehrke lost his battle with cancer late Monday night.
