Kids, we all have that pang every now and then to lend a helping hand.  I know a lot of us here in the Sedalia area contribute to charities and church and school groups.  I get a lot of community calendar events submitted to me that are just that; people trying to help.  So, here's another way for you to help, and maybe get a little reward for it yourself.

Sedalia is the home of the Mid Missouri Outlaws football team. Recently the Outlaws' starting quarterback, Kyle Middleton suffered a broken collar bone in a game against the Council Bluffs Express, and for the first time in team history, a new quarterback got a start. Jeremy Spears received the call to finish out the game against the Express and was named the starter against the Springfield Wolfpa

One thing you can say about our local park system is that they are certainly not hurting for ideas. They have so many things for kids to do these days! One of their upcoming events is Art in the Park Day on July 17.  It's for young kids, about ages 7-11, and they go to Liberty Park and get messy making some art pieces of their own.

Hello kids. Every day I end up reading several of what I call "The Stupid Stories" or "The Crazy Stories." And I gotta admit, I love when that story is about an animal.

I admit, I haven't been too outdoorsy in my time.  But, I have gone fishing, and I've done catch and release at Liberty Park.

So I know a lot of people these days are worried about the same old things we always worry about: are you going to be able to keep your job, is your job paying you enough, is the economy ever going to turn around?
