In a move that would make for a great 'Seinfeld' episode -- 'What's the deal with hugs?' -- the comedian sidestepped an attempted squeeze from Kesha at last night's (June 5) National Night of Laughter and Song event.

Seinfeld was no stranger to discarded episodes, but at least a few ideas were probably better off on the scrap heap. Writer-producers David Mandel and Jeff Schaffer reveal a few Seinfeld concepts that never made it past the writers room, including skeletons, a trip to Mexico, and a pretty literal twist on the Soup Nazi.

If you thought Netflix’s commitment to stand-up comedy was big before, between new specials for Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Amy Schumer, read the Sein. Not only has Jerry Seinfeld inked a deal for two new standup specials, but the entirety of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, past and future, will move to Netflix.

It’s the bugaboo that every comic who’s ever gripped a mic and squinted into the spotlight knows all too well: silence. You keep telling the jokes, and your best material isn’t getting a peep. The flop sweat starts to gather at the small of your back, and all of a sudden, you regret not taking the bottle of water they offered you backstage. Seinfeld seems about the least likely sitcom to consider revival, to a point the idea formed the spine for an entire Curb Your Enthusiasm season. That said, Jerry Seinfeld has apparently at least been approached for a live episode return, and may himself return for Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9.

The iconic and still-relatable Seinfeld famously identified itself as a "show about nothing," but did you know that Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld envisioned the actual series with a specific focus? Seinfeld is truly the gift that keeps on giving, whether bestowing all its episodes on modarn platforms like Hulu, putting Jerry and Elaine on the road together, or unveiling surprise stories of the past. Latest from the treasure trove is Jason Alexander’s explanation of Heidi Swedberg’s Susan Ross, whom the cast apparently hated working with, and conspired together to kill off.

As much as we like to imagen Seinfeld today, Hulu may soon corner the market on Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer’s exploits. The streaming service has announced an exclusive streaming deal for everyone’s favorite show about nothing, moving all 180 Seinfeld episodes onto Hulu for years to come.
