The Sedalia Business Women have been getting together every year for over 30 years celebrating their accomplishments and achievements in Sedalia with their Chicken Dinner.

The Sacred Heart Bazaar will take place October 11 and 12 at the Sacred Heart School.

For over 50 years, the Leeton Lions Club has invested thousands of volunteer hours and been the driving force behind hundreds of community projects.

Most of us in our lives have been touched by the tragedy that is cancer.  It's come in several forms and severity levels, but it's never easy.

Every year, the Lions Club has had their big  “Blues and Barbecue” summer fundraising event.  Well, this year, they're changing it up a little bit and renaming it the Backyard Bash.

The Sedalia Rotary Club will host their 24th annual auction to fund all their charitable endeavors on Friday evening (April 11) at the Best Western State Fair Motor Inn.

The second annual Go Big Or Go Home Race, a fundraising event for the Blaine Whitworth Fund, was held on Saturday, April 5. The fund was set up in memory of Blaine Whitworth, a Warrensburg business owner who was gunned down in his driveway, in the Fall of '12. The Sedalia/Pettis County Branch of the NAACP is preparing for their annual Freedom Banquet.This year’s theme is “Moving Upward and Onward” and focuses on responsibilities to do what you can to maintain your health.

We all know that you never think about the Fire Department until you need them.  But there are some people who go out of their way to make sure you never have to think about it, and they volunteer their time to help keep us all safe.  The Johnson County Fire Auxiliary Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction serves as a thank you to a lot of these brave souls.

Sedalia Noonday Optimist Club is always doing something in our area to help kids. They do the Haunted Hayride, Casino Night, golf tournaments, and breakfasts like these. Sedalia Noonday Optimist Club held their 10th Annual Breakfast at the Little Big Horn Cattle Company on Saturday, Feb. 22.
