Today was a rare day off for me. I didn't go anyplace grand like last year's vacation to the Grand Hotel in Michigan, nor did I get to do any necessary chores around the house, but I slept. No, I did not sleep in late. This was doctor prescribed.

Before I tell you about the Johnson County Fire Auxiliary Spaghetti dinner and auction, let me tell you that I grew up in the rural areas of Knob Noster in Country Acres, and at one point, we had lightening hit our house and it caused a fire. The Knob Noster Volunteer Department came out and made sure all was okay. Ever since that moment, I realized the importance of having a good fire department

Kids, our pal Doug is a fun dude.  He's a multi-tasker and tries to keep things light generally around here.  So, Doug has recently found the infamous Gangnam Style video.  If you haven't seen it, it's an absolutely crazy music video from South Korea by a rapper named Psy.

It used to be said that radio was the "theater of the mind."  However, with the internet, we can actually show you that on some days it appears us radio guys have no fashion sense.  Today is a prime example of that.

My father had a saying growing up; “You could go all over the world and see some amazing things, but take the time to see what’s in your backyard too.” I decided to pack up the kids and head to The Peach Tree Farm in Boonville on our way to Columbia.
