Deep Purple

After a long absence from the recording studio, Deep Purple are set to release a new album titled 'NOW What?!' on April 30 -- and from the sound of the single 'Hell to Pay,' they might have come pretty close to their stated goal of returning to the classic Deep Purple sound.

They might not be making it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just yet, but that's not stopping Deep Purple from moving forward with new music. The legendary British rockers will release a new album titled 'NOW What?!' on April 30 in North America via earMUSIC. Fans will get their first taste of the new music from a double A-side single released on March 29.

Once again, Deep Purple fans are left with more questions than answers following the release of a preview clip for the band's upcoming album, which is due this April.

Though recently snubbed by the powers-that-be at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, the mighty Deep Purple are rolling full speed ahead and have announced new details concerning their long awaited new album. It's that time of year again! No, not Christmas, it's the time when the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame makes their big announcement concerning the 2013 inductees. The big announcement will be made tomorrow, Dec. 11, at 11:00AM Pacific.

The music world is speaking up following the death of iconic rock and metal keyboardist Jon Lord, who made his name in Deep Purple and Whitesnake.

It seems like almost daily anymore we lose another icon from the world of music. Unfortunately, today is no different.  Jon Lord past away today from complications from pancreatic cancer.  Jon was the man who penned the iconic tune "Smoke On The Water," along with tons of other great stuff.

Jon Lord, the original keyboardist for Deep Purple, has a new recording of his classical piece, ‘Concerto For Group And Orchestra’ in September, his website announced on Sunday (June 10). The work will be released on the German label Edel and ABC Records in Australia.
