This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports.


In the very early hours of Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West Cooper Street for a report of assault. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with an individual who wanted to make a report. Officers gathered information to submit formal charges.


 

Saturday evening, Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Grand Avenue in reference to a suicidal subject. Upon arrival, Officers were advised the subject had overdosed. Officers administered NARCAN, and the subject was then treated by PCAD. The subject was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.


 

On the evening of March 14th, Officers were contacted over the phone about an assault. The caller stated the assault happened at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, 3811 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers gathered information from the subject to investigate the matter.


 

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Brianna Boulevard in reference to a heavily intoxicated subject. The subject was evaluated by PCAD and transported to the BRHC.


 

Sedalia Police were flagged down late Saturday night in the area of West Main Street and South Ohio Avenue. Daniel L. Uptegrove stated he had been assaulted in the 100 block of West Main Street*. The other subject had left the scene before being identified. Uptegrove refused medical treatment, and the investigation is still ongoing.


 

Sunday morning, Officers met with Andria Rohr in the lobby of the Police Department regarding found property. Rohr turned in keys that were located in the 2900 block of South Limit Avenue. The keys are attached to a silver carbineer with a distinct key chain. The keys were entered into the evidence facility as found property.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of East 13th Street Sunday afternoon. A burglary was reported, and Officers gathered information for a report.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers took a report that occurred on March 19th at the Phillips 66, 215 West Broadway Boulevard**.   Fantasia Kulseth reported a maroon Chrysler Sebring struck a metal pillar in the parking lot Tuesday afternoon, before driving off without leaving any required information or contacting law enforcement.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 300 block of West 7th Street last Tuesday evening (March 19th).  The call was in reference to a female subject driving up and down the street, “doing strange things”.  Fantasia Alize Kulseth, 23, of Knob Noster, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol).


 

Last Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of North Heard Avenue to investigate a stray animal report. A suspect on scene was identified and confirmed to have an active warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Shoplifting. The original charge was filed by citation in November of 2023 after an incident at the Overstock Outlet, 815 East Broadway Boulevard. The suspect missed their court date in January of 2024, and a warrant was issued in March. Randy Loren Veeder, 47, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in pending a $60 cash only bond.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers drove through an area in the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard, and identified an individual with a known warrant for their arrest. Joshua David Hartman, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for his two Failure to Appear warrants from the City of Sedalia. The two warrants were related to the same incident, which was filed by citation in November of 2023. The warrant was issued after Hartman failed to appear in February 2024. Hartman was booked in at the Pettis County Jail on the warrants, which were on original charges of No Seat Belt and Operating A Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Bond was set at $149.00 cash only.


 

On the afternoon of March 18th, Officers were dispatched to a theft report at the Menard’s store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue. The suspect came into the store and took items without paying for them. The suspect as identified by facial recognition in the store, and he was remembered has having done the same on several occasions. Charges are being submitted to the prosecutor for Stealing***.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers conducted an area check in the 800 block of West 4th Street. Officers were there to locate an identify a person with a Failure to Appear warrant for their arrest. Bethany Joann Williams, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for two FTA warrants from the City of Sedalia on original charges of a Nuisance Violation and Building Code Violations stemming from a ticket issued in October of 2023. The citation was issued because of a failure to “repaint peeling, chipping paint on the garage”. Williams also had a Failure to Appear warrant from the City of Nevada in Vernon County. The citation was filed in June of 2023, Williams failed to appear in July of that same year. Bond on the Vernon County warrant as set at $259.04 cash only, while the Sedalia warrants had a total cash only bond of $120.00.


 

Officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident in the 1300 block of Brianna Boulevard Saturday afternoon. Anna Parent stated someone struck their vehicle between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The suspect left the scene without reporting anything.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the El Espolon 2400 South Limit Avenue, on the evening of March 22nd. Officers investigated a hit and run accident. Gabriella G. Holland stated her vehicle was struck while inside the restaurant. A report was made, but no suspects have been identified at this time.


 

On the afternoon of March 18th, Officers were dispatched to a theft report at the Menard’s store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue. The suspect came into the store and took items without paying for them. Friday afternoon, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street. Officers identified the subject, who had a warrant out of Pettis County****. Dylan Brooks Clark, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident. Bond was set at $7500 cash or surety.


 

Saturday morning, Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Carr Avenue in reference to a vehicle theft. Officers spoke with Karl Parks, who stated his motorcycle was stolen. The motorcycle was stolen during the overnight hours. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Friday night, Officers responded to the 400 block of West 11th Street in reference to an animal attack. Officers spoke with Eric L. Collier, who stated his cat was attacked by a dog loose in the area. Animal Control responded and took possession of the dog.


 

Last Tuesday night, Officers responded to the 100 block of East Main Street in reference a theft. David E. Esser stated license plates were stolen from his vehicle. A report was made and the license plates were entered as stolen.


Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop in the area of West 9th Street and South Harrison Avenue on Saturday night. Officers made contact with all the occupants, and found a passenger had an active warrant out of Pettis County for his arrest. Trevaughn Davis Albert Taylor, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant on a charge of Peace Disturbance from 2023. Taylor was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in, pending a $250.00 cash only bond.


 

Saturday night, Officers received a call from the Bothwell Hospital, 601 East 14th Street, in regards to an animal bite. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with Shawn Mullican, who stated the bite occurred in the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue.


 

On the morning of March 19th, Thomas Bremer came to the lobby of the Police Department to report a forgery. The forgery happened at one of the businesses in The Crossing, 2700 West Broadway Boulevard.


 

Last Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to Hibbett Sports, 3115 West Broadway boulevard, for a reported theft. Upon investigation, it was discovered an employee had stolen money from the business over a period of time. Charity M. Mumby, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. Mumby was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.


 

Friday morning, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 400 block of North Hurley Avenue. A subject was arrested for a Probation and Parole warrant for his arrest. Jonathan W. Ayers, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Probation and Parole warrant on an original charge of felony Driving While Suspended. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.*****


 

Last Monday afternoon, Misty Rahe came into the Police Department to report her debit card had been stolen from the 400 block of East 7th Street and used in several places.


 

On the morning of March 22nd, Officers were dispatched to a private residence located on Radio Hill Road for a reported theft. Officers were informed the suspect walked to the Break Time store, 101 Rebar Road. Officers successfully intercepted the suspect and spoke to him to gather more information. In November of 2023, Officers spoke with a victim regarding a Taurus PT111 9 mm pistol, which they stated had been stolen by their cousin. The victim claimed he purchased the pistol and provided a receipt. He then said he had loaned the pistol to his cousin to repair it as a birthday gift. According to the victim, he reached out several times to get the gun back, but the suspect refused. A warrant was issued on March 20th, 2024. When Police followed up on this case Friday morning, the suspect refused to return the stolen property. Noah Charles Cochran, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested on a felony charge of Stealing a Firearm/Explosive Weapon. There was no mention of bond for Cochran.


 

*In the original report, the Officer referred to the incident occurring at “Friendly’s, 115 West Main Street”. KSIS reached out to the Sedalia Police Department’s Records Division to ask for clarification about the name of the establishment. When the Records Department reissued the report, the name of the business was redacted.

**In the original report, the Officer referred to the business as “Fav Trip”. KSIS has been asked by the ownership of the business to refer to the establishment as “Phillips 66”.

***Both report numbers 2024-00006607 and 2024-00006103 have the same text in the narrative. They are both reported at the same date and time, 03/18/2024, 16:44. Due to the reports being identical but different report numbers, KSIS treated this as two different reports of theft from the same establishment.

****It was not clear in Casenet which charge this warrant pertained to. According to 23PT-CR01694, on March 12, 2024, Clark was sentenced to 120 days and 2 years’ probation on a charge of felony Assault in the 4th Degree Pursuant To Subdivision (1), (5).
565.056. Assault in the fourth degree. — 1. A person commits the offense of assault in the fourth degree if:
(1) The person attempts to cause or recklessly causes physical injury, physical pain, or illness to another person;
(2) With criminal negligence the person causes physical injury to another person by means of a firearm;
(3) The person purposely places another person in apprehension of immediate physical injury;
(4) The person recklessly engages in conduct which creates a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury to another person;
(5) The person knowingly causes or attempts to cause physical contact with a person with a disability, which a reasonable person, who does not have a disability, would consider offensive or provocative; or
(6) The person knowingly causes physical contact with another person knowing the other person will regard the contact as offensive or provocative.

*****The report notes another Probation and Parole warrant for Ayers’ arrest that did not carry a bond. That P&P warrant was not available in Casenet at news time.
