Sacred Heart Lady Grems End Season With 51-32 loss to Bunceton
The Sacred Heart Lady Gremlins played their hearts out, but fell short to the Bunceton with Prairie Home Lady Dragons, posting a 51-32 loss in the MSHSAA Class 1, District 8 Girls Basketball Tournament Monday night.
Bailee Vogel led the way with 13 points, while Ellie Coruna added 11. Lauren Diller had 5 points and Paisley Carl finished with 3.
Sacred Heart ended up with a 2-23 record.
Bunceton posted an 11-15 record.
In season-ending comments, Coach Michael Schwartz said “We are proud of how all of the girls played in this, our last game of the season. Special thanks go out to all the girls that participated, you are very special. Also, special thanks to Coaches Carl and Cahill, and Mrs. Gerke, the best scorekeeper around. Lastly, thanks to all the parents, siblings and fans that have supported us all year. All these people make me feel proud to be a Gremlin,” he commented.
Girls Sectionals will begin Tuesday, Feb. 27, with Quarterfinals March 2. The Show-me Showdown will be held March 7-9.
