Last Friday morning, Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of South Walnut Avenue in Smithton. Deputies were called to investigate a domestic assault report. A male subject was contacted, and he was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Johnson County. Johnathan Alen Curtis, 22, of Smithton, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on charges of Speeding (11-15 MPH Over). Curtis was issued the citation in May of 2022, and the warrant for his arrest was issued in June of 2022 after he failed to appear. Curtis was transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a cash or surety bond of $150.00.

Saturday night, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of US 50 and Granny Lane in Sedalia. The vehicle was stopped for multiple lane violations and speeding. A male passenger was identified as Michael Douglas Runyan, 30, of Warsaw. Deputies conducted a warrant check through Pettis County Joint Communications. Runyan had an active warrant out of Henry County for his arrest. The warrant was issued in February 2024 on a charge of Driving While Revoked. Runyan was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $200.00 cash only.
