Saturday morning, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 16th Street and South Harrison Avenue. The vehicle was stopped because it had no license plates. During the stop, Pettis County K9 Cav was utilized for a free air sniff around the vehicle. Cav alerted positively to the odor of narcotics. Deputies spoke with the driver, and noted he seemed “very nervous.” When questioned if anything illegal was in the vehicle, he hesitated to answer, looked at the ground, and then stated there was not. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and two bags of a crystal substance and drug paraphernalia were located. The bags were found in a plastic case in the center console, along with a cut straw (often used to ingest methamphetamine), and a glass pipe caked with a crystal substance. All the items tested positively for methamphetamine. Both Occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest. The passenger, Brianna D. Crabb*, 36, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released on a charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The driver, Kyle Patrick Henley*, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Monday night, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of US 65 HWY and Honda Road. The vehicle was stopped because it had a defective license plate light. During the stop, the front seat passenger, Jacob Ernest Jordan, 33, of Lincoln, was found to have two warrants for his arrest from Jackson and Platte Counties. The Jackson County warrant stemmed from charges of Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in April of 2019, with the latest Failure to Appear issued in November of 2023. Bond was set at $10,000. The Platte County warrant was first filed in 2022, on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, with another issued in October of 2023. That charge carried a bond of $5,000 cash or surety. K9 Lord was run around the vehicle for an open-air sniff, and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 41 pills in the vehicle. All the pills were controlled substances**. The driver, Kelsie Bradford, 33, also of Lincoln, was placed under arrested on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.


 

*In Casenet 24PT-CR00545, charges were only filed against Henley. Charges against Crabb may not be prosecuted, or they may not be filed yet. The Possession charge against Henley was upgraded to a felony, while the Paraphernalia charge is a misdemeanor. Bond for Henley was set later the day after the warrant was issued, for a cash or surety amount of $7500.
