Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration that was believed to be driven by a subject with an outstanding warrant Saturday night.

The stop was conducted near South Ohio Avenue and East 16th Street.

During the course of the investigation, the warrant was confirmed, and the driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver’s mother then walked onto the scene, and began to interfere. Despite multiple directives, and chances, the intoxicated mother would not stop interfering and was arrested.

Rebecca A. LaKemper, 44, of Smithton, was arrested on a charge of Interfering With An Arrest.

The driver, Chandler Wade LaKemper, 23, of Columbia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated, and his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding.

Both LaKempers were placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
