Say THAT three times fast! I love fall. It's probably my favorite season of the year. Yeah, spring is nice, but there are less bugs in autumn.  And more pumpkin patches!  Here's a quick list of five autumnally fun things you and the family can do this year.

1. Go To A Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze.

There are actually a few of these in our area, and they're always fun. You can go to Pa Pa's Pumpkin Patch starting September 23rd. Opening day for the Prairie's End Pumpkin Patch on South 65 and Rupe Family Farms in Otterville is the same day. We took the girls and their cousins a couple of times and they had an absolute blast.

2.  Warsaw Heritage Days.

The Warsaw Pioneer Heritage Days will be October 21 and 22. It's free to attend. It'll be held in Downtown Warsaw, in the Drake Harbor area, and at Truman Dam as well. There will be all sorts of food, vendors, and lots of people practicing crafts the way they did hundreds of years ago.

3.  Family Boo Bash.

This event is held with the Sedalia Parks and Recreation. They'll have dinner, a costume contest, games, crafts, hayride, and of course, plenty of treats. Don’t miss out on the best family Halloween party around! You have to register by October 24, because space is limited.! $5 per individual. Children under 2 are free.

4.  The Green Ridge Harvest Fun Fest.

This will take place Saturday, September 16. The festival will be held in the Green Ridge Park, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The parade starts at 10:00, with the lineup beginning at 9:00 behind the school. The Harvest Fun Fest includes, food, games, crafts, prince and princess contest, displays from Air Evac, Life Flight, and EMA. There will also be a silent auction, pie auction, tractor show, and ‘shine and show’ car show. For more information, call 660-620-3944 or 660-620-3485.

5.  The Prairie Day and Evening on the Prairie.

This  will take place in Cole Camp, on Saturday, October 14. Prairie Day activities include, children’s games, bird banding, wagon tours, complimentary wine and cheese, quilt drawing, silent auction, star-gazing with telescopes, and rent camping! The annual meeting for the Missouri Prairie Day Foundation will also take place from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. The entire event will last from 10:00 a.m. until well-after dark.
