Healthy U, in partnership with Sedalia Parks and Recreation and the University of Central Missouri student dietetic association is offering a series of healthy cooking classes.  The classes are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30-7:00PM through November 14 – skipping the week of Halloween.  Themes include:  mommy & me (October 8 & 10), guiltless desserts (Oct 15 & 17), jazz up your fish (Oct 22 & 24), healthy meals in 15 minutes or less (Nov 5 & 7), and meatless main dishes (Nov 12 & 14).  The classes are free; just bring your own ingredients!  Registration is required; call Sedalia Parks and Recreation (660)826-4930 to sign-up and receive an ingredient list! Healthy U is a community program promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity, and good nutrition.  Healthy U is coordinated by the Health Living Action Group. The Healthy Living Action Group includes Bothwell Regional Health Center, University of Missouri Extension, Katy Trail Community Health, Pettis County Health Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, State Fair Community College, and Early Head Start. Healthy U sponsors include HLAG agencies and Total Fitness Gym, Backbone of Health, Woods Supermarket, Bodyworks Day Spa, Blue Ribbon Steering Committee, Fig Leaf, and Third National Bank.
