Additional Information

This week, author Dorene Johnson celebrates the nationwide release of her new memoir, “A Missing Piece of the Pie,” where she shares her personal story of finding about her past and her biological parents.
Being raised in a home with assuring parents and a solid foundation didn’t ease the desire Johnson had to find out about her biological parents. Who were they? What did they do? Where did they live? Did they ever think about finding the child they had given up? Did they ever wonder about their daughter’s life and the obstacles that faced her? Did they ever wonder if the child wanted to know about them too?

Her adopted family’s unconditional love and acceptance gave her the courage to dig into her past and answer the questions that she has struggled with for so long. Readers will take the journey with Johnson as she finds “A Missing Piece of the Pie.”

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Johnson received her BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and has sold works on consignment and in various galleries throughout the state. As a dedicated mother and wife, she spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom before accepting the position as an educational assistant in the public schools for children with learning difficulties.
