Most of us in our lives have been touched by the tragedy that is cancer.  It's come in several forms and severity levels, but it's never easy.  It's hard enough to get through this terrible disease, even with the best doctors, treatment and support.  It pretty much stops a lot of things in your life, and interrupts it in a terrible way.  But, often there are those of us who can get through it and move into remission.  Luckily for us, Phyllis Lynn is one of those survivors.  But while the whole treatment process is hard enough - it's the aftermath that can be just as hard.   Most patients aren't able to work while they're in treatment, and those bills definitely add up.  That's the part that we need your help with.   The Cancer Benefit Fundraiser for Phyllis Lynn will be on Saturday, August 2.  It’ll be held at the Concordia Community Center, 802 South Gordon Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  They’ll have live music, a roast hog dinner, baked beans, brisket, potato salad, homemade desserts and door prizes with a silent and live auction.  I got to talk to Kathy Lynn, one of the organizers of the event, about what's going to be going on and how you can help.

So make plans to stop by the huge fundraiser to help Phyllis and her family.  If you can't make it, anonymous donations can be made to the Benefit account at State Bank of Missouri, 101 NW 2nd St, Concordia. You can also find out more information at their Facebook page.

Concordily yours,
Behka
