Hasbro’s Incredible SDCC-Exclusive Thor Box Set Is Anything But Unworthy
For all intents and purposes, 2017 is shaping up to be a good year for Thor. Not only are the Marvel Comics still going strong heading into the Legacy event, but he's also starring in one of the year’s most anticipated sequels, Thor: Ragnarok. With every new Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Hasbro's turned to the Marvel Legends line to provide some action figure excitement to tie into the big event. However, this year, Hasbro also made Thor the star of one of its Comic-Con exclusives, and the “Battle for Asgard” set is more than worthy of Odin himself.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Review (Nintendo Switch)
The Mario Brothers have been around nearly as long as video games themselves, and have starred in just about every single kind of game you can play. In all those decades however, Nintendo's Mushroom Kingdom heroes never faced the gridlocked life of tactical strategy. Apparently, they were just waiting for Ubisoft's goofball Rabbids to provide the impetus. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is one of the best games in Ubisoft and Nintendo's partnership, and is a surprisingly strong strategy game to boot.
Playmates Lionizes ‘Voltron: Legendary Defender’ With New Diecast Figures [Review]
To tie into the third season's release, Playmates launched a new wave of Voltron: Legendary Defender toys, including a set of diecast figures that could combine to form the massive mech. Though the set isn't entirely cast in metal, the figures are a fair representation of the real robotic lions that combine to make a Voltron perfect for defending your desk.
Simone Biles Drives Through the Pain of Getting Her Wisdom Teeth Removed
It doesn't matter if you're an everyday teen or a gold medal-winning gymnast, no one is exempt from the power of painkillers to induce some laughs.
BJ Blazkowicz is America’s Number One Celebrity Terrorist in Wolfenstein II [Preview]
There are few things in this world as unsettling as walking down the street in a Nazi-fied American town. Though the version of that world only exists in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, it's a harrowing bit of revisionist history that puts you on edge the moment BJ steps out into Roswell's main street in 1961. Nazis and Third Reich imagery is plastered all over, with plenty of white people in the streets celebrating a parade. Making things even more alien were the posters of "Terror-Billy" plastered over every open space that wasn't already filled with fascist propaganda or decoration.
In Wolfenstein II, you may be stepping into the shoes of a resistance hero, but in the Nazi-occupied United States, BJ Blazkowicz is public enemy number one.
Sideshow Collectibles Taps The Biggest Heroes and Villains For SDCC 2017 Reveals
As one of Comic-Con's oldest guests, Sideshow Collectibles has one of the largest footprints at the annual San Diego event of any exhibitor. It's a good thing too because Sideshow hosts works from a number of companies it helps distribute in the states, as well as putting on a showcase for its own products. This year's offerings ran the gamut from the comic book worlds of Marvel and DC, to the cinematic universes of both, with a healthy dose of Star Wars interspersed to keep things groovy.
Radio Flyer’s Luke Skywalker Landspeeder Is the Star Wars Toy You Always Dreamed Of
Oh to be a kid again in this day and age of advanced technology. While we had Big Wheels and Power Wheels growing up, today's kids have things like Mercedes cars and BMWs to drive around the playground. There's probably a Tesla out there too, what with it being the leading electric car and all. Those are cool and all, and they made me mildly jealous, but not nearly as much as learning Radio Flyer is releasing a battery-driven Landspeeder from Star Wars in a few months. I haven't wanted to be a kid again so much in my life.
The Chinese Internet Censors Winnie the Pooh Because of Memes
Even the world's most humble, honey-hungry animated bear can't escape the watchful eye of China's internet censors.
Fox Home Video Scores ‘Deadpool,’ ‘Logan’ and More Vinyls For Comic-Con 2017
After teasing fans at last year's San Diego Comic-Con with an empty vinyl record of the Dazzler album featured in X-Men: Apocalypse, this year Fox Home Entertainment is delivering the goods. While a Dazzler record is still not a thing we'll actually be able to buy and listen to, Fox is bringing a collection of limited vinyls from Deadpool, Logan, the Planet of the Apes franchise, and Kingsman to Comic-Con. To make these packages even more impressive, they'll also come with the Blu-ray and DVD copies of the feature films.
NECA’s SDCC 2017 Exclusives Won’t Cut the Competition No Slack
For the past few years, only a handful of merchandisers could rightfully lay claim to having one of the best San Diego Comic-Con exclusive items. With dozens of different companies all vying for that top spot, the competition was absolutely fierce. However, in that great big mix of exclusives, one company constantly found itself topping nearly every toy fanatic's list. NECA has been on a major roll as of late, and with this year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Predator and Aliens offerings, its grip on the Comic-Con crown doesn't look like it will loosen.
