Monday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on an improperly registered vehicle. The stop took place in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. After the investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of an illegal weapon. The weapon was seized, and will be entered into evidence to be destroyed. There was no further information in the report.


 

On the morning of March 11th, Officers were investigating a property damage report that occurred in the 3200 block of East Broadway Boulevard. Officers discovered the vehicle they believed to be involved in the property damage. The stop took place in the area of South Engineer and East 9th Street, because the vehicle failed to signal. The driver was found to have a suspended driving status. Juan Jesus Lozano, 25, of Osceola, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Lozano was transported to the Police Department for processing and then released with a summons.


 

Tuesday night, Officers responded to the 700 block of North Lamine Avenue in reference to a disturbance. The complainant stated a subject who was visiting had become upset, and damaged some their property. The subject then fled the scene. The subject was identified, but Officers were unable to locate the subject at this time. State charges are being requested.

Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of Buckner Court in reference to a report of harassment Monday evening. Officers took a complaint from Hailey M. McNeal, who stated a subject had damaged her vehicle. The subject was identified, but no contact was made and no charges are being pursued. A report was made for documentation.


 

On the morning of March 11th, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Arlington Avenue because the vehicle was failing to maintain its lane, and was speeding excessively. The driver was found to have a suspended license. Juan Manuel Rangel Ybarra, 24, of Kansas City, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Rangel Ybarra was then booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department Monday afternoon from William R. Messerli. Messerli stated his vehicles had been tampered with in the 200 block of West 10th Street on March 13th, 2024.


 

Tuesday afternoon, a cell phone was turned into the lobby of the Police Department. Patricia Balance found the phone in the 600 block of South Carr Avenue. The phone has been placed into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Sedalia Police met with Candice Heather in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft Monday evening. Heather advised that someone had used their identity to secure a term loan for $1,000 through a crediting company. The suspect has not been identified at the time of the report.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Grand Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. Both parties had injuries after an argument turned physical. A 12-hour log was used to document the incident.
