A Windsor man died early this morning after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Pettis County.

The Misssouri State Highway Patrol reported an accident that occurred on Route E, a tenth of a mile south of Morgan Road at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.

52-year-old John E. Gursick of Windsor was the driver of a northbound 2015 Victory motorcycle that failed to negotiate the curve, causing it to cross the center line. The Victory entered the path of a southbound 2006 Kenworth driven by 47-year-old Jacob Hochstetler of Macon. The driver of the Victory motorcycle was ejected upon impact, the report said. Gursick was pronounced dead at the scene by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith. The body was taken to Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor.

Hochstetler refused medical treatment at the scene.

The Patrol was assisted by Pettis County deputies, as well as members of the Patrol's Major Crash Investigation Unit.
