Over Labor Day weekend, my younger brother Steve and his friend Justin came to visit, and since Steve is a pretty high energy, thrill-seeking kind of kid, so I thought an amusement park would be a good way to spend the day. Good thing we have such a nice one in the area!

I'd never been to Worlds of Fun before, or even heard of it until I started looking for something I could do with my brother here. I have to be honest, "World of Fun" sounded a little cheesy to me, I was kind of expecting a dinky little park. Well, I was wrong!

Worlds and Oceans of Fun are outstanding parks. Tons of great rides. We made sure we rode the Mamba first thing, and then proceeded to ride every single ride in the park twice. Luckily there were no lines, which was great. World of fun has six different Roller Coasters, the biggest one The Mamba, a really fun one that goes backwards and forwards with a ton of upside down action; The Boomerang, two great wooden Coasters, the Prowler, which was our favorite ride in the park, and the Timberwolf, which is NOT for the faint of heart. That thing beats you up! The Patriot is great too, where you're actually suspended underneath the track, and finally the Spinning Dragons.

On top of that, there's plenty of non-rollercoaster rides. We really liked Cyclone Sam's Cloudpoofer 2000, a crazy spinning in the dark ride.

We also had a really good time just playing the midway games. We won a pretty sweet Captain America Banana with a baseball throwing game and a Despicable Me Minion throwing darts at balloons. We couldn't beat the ring toss though.

Then there's the Waterpark, Oceans of Fun. We had a blast in the wave pool and all the slides, but by far the best part were the tube slides where the floor is literally dropped out from underneath you and you shoot almost straight down. You get some serious speed going in those!

We were there all day, and had a great time. The place is great for all ages, and I can't recommend it enough. If you've never been, you need to, it's a blast!
