According to a report from UCMathletics.com, the reigning MIAA Tournament Champions Central Missouri Mules Baseball was picked to finish first in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.

After the votes were tabulated, the Mules earned 115 and six first-place votes. The remaning six votes were distributed amongst other teams in the MIAA.

On the national level Central Missouri also is ranked by two separate organizations. UCM is 20th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) and 22th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

In 2018, the Mules went 39-17 overall, winning the MIAA Tournament and clinching a berth in the NCAA Regional where they went 2-2. They finished third in the MIAA regular season standings prior to the tournament.

Central Missouri starts their season Friday, February 1 in Houston,Texas at Minute Maid Park, home of the 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros. They'll play three games in Houston this weekend to open 2019.

The Mules are under the direction of fifth year head coach Kyle Crookes.
