Icy road conditions have resulted in city trash and recycling collections running behind schedule on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

City crews continue to work to collect trash and recycling, however they are working at a slower rate to ensure their safety and safety of the community as roadways, alleys and equipment are ice covered.

The National Weather Service’s forecast for the area includes additional icing overnight tonight, Feb. 6 and collection services are likely to run behind schedule on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Residents are asked to leave their trash and recycling carts at the curb or alley until emptied. City crews will be working to ensure all areas are picked up and collections may extend into Monday to ensure everyone receives collection service.
