Traffic Safety Program for Parents Scheduled at S-C High School

A free traffic safety program that can help educate parents about Missouri’s Graduated Driver License law is scheduled for March 20 at Smith-Cotton High School.

The name of the program, First Impact, is described as a traffic safety program that can educate parents about Missouri’s Graduated Driver License (GDL) law. The goal of First Impact is to reduce the number of motor vehicle fatalities, injuries and crashes among teen drivers by increasing parental awareness and enforcement of the GDL law.

First Impact is an opportunity help parents understand teen driving risks, enforcement & monitoring of the law, and serving as a positive role model.

First Impact will present a program for parents Wednesday, March 20, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Smith-Cotton High School, located at 2010 Tiger Pride Blvd in Sedalia.

Speakers at the program will include Deputy Dustin Southard, Pettis County Sheriff’s Office and Deputy Jim Cihy, with the Hickory County Sheriff’s Office
