The local Senior Center in Sedalia with the Care Connection for Aging Services are looking for people who want to volunteer and help out.

At the mention of the phrase "Salvation Army," it's likely you'll immediately imagine a person standing outside a local store with a bell and a bright red bucket. The bell is to get your attention. The bucket is to receive your donation.

Folks, f there's anything I've noticed about Sedalia, it's that people here care about their neighbors.  And sometimes it can be something manifested in small ways - like helping shovel their walk, or checking on a neighbor, or donating to a local charity. Everyone here in our area is familiar with the Sedalia Senior Center down at 312 S. Washington. The Sedalia Senior Center is looking for volunteers!

The Salvation Army works very hard for the people of Sedalia and Pettis County.  They provide food, clothing, shelter, and some good old fashioned company for folks who are going through a rough time.  They thrive and live on volunteers and their kind hearts.  They give their time to a larger cause, and do it willingly every day.

So I don't know if you have heard or not, but we had a election yesterday.  Yep, it's true.  I could take this time to tell you how glad I am that it's over or how sick I was of playing political ads, political phone calls, etc., but I won't.
