So you're driving down the street on a hot summer day. You pull up to the stoplight in a line of traffic. Your air conditioner is cranked as you try to find some relief from the sun. You look down at your dash and the display shows that it's 93 degrees, but wait you look up at one of the local banks and it says it's 97. As you pull forward with the flow of traffic you see another bank sign and it's showing the temperature at 98 degrees. Which one is right?

You'll find some strange things buried in the dirt around your home's foundation. We're just a week out of the Independence Day holiday weekend, and about three and a half weeks away from the 2021 Missouri State Fair. Probably, the last thing you're thinking about right now is shopping for school supplies for the upcoming year, but you may want to make a mental note of these dates-August 6-8. These are the three days where you can shop for back to school items with no sales tax.

Seeing 4-H exhibits at the Missouri State Fair each year is a given, but this year it will be something a little different for fair-goers.

Like so many local, county and state fairs that didn't run last year across not only Missouri but also the U.S., this year's Smithton Town and Country Fair is back, and revised!

Now I'm not saying the two go together, by any means, but I ran across a couple of proposals that might interest you.

Even though some damage and some areas were flooded in Pettis and Johnson counties due to storms and rainfall in the second half of June up to July 1, the two counties are not included in a request for federal assistance.

The Veterans Assistance League will host its 2nd Virtual Run for Freedom 5K and 10K this fall. Runners from all over the state and country will have the opportunity to run for the veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
