This week was the first installment of the State Fair Community College's Summer Repertory shows.  They're doing two small shows (each one has a cast of three) and they promised a lot of fun.  I got to go to one of them this weekend, and here's what went down. We went to the play The Complete Works of Wllm Shkspr Abridged/Revised.  It's a comedy show where the three actors try to give you all 37 plays by William Shakespeare in an hour and a half.  There were indeed a lot of laughs and a couple serious moments.  You could tell the show was fun for the actors as well, and they definitely threw in a few changes to the script to make it more about them and their group.  It was fun, and I suggest everyone go see the show.

One good thing that I wanted to be sure to mention was that their new one act theater was a gift from the ever generous Sylvia Thompson. So to thank her, they're taking the proceeds from the Summer shows and putting all of that towards a scholarship in her name.

If you want to see the show we saw, it'll be performed at 7:30 p.m. on June 27, and 29 and at 2:30 p.m. on June 23. If you want to see the other show,“Eleemosynary,” performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on June 26 and 28 and at 2:30 p.m. on June 30. Admission is $8, or $12 to see both shows. Tickets are half price for groups of 10 or more. Admission is free to anyone 60 or older for both Sunday matinées.

Tickets can be purchased online at sfccmo.edu/thearts, through e-mail tickets@sfccmo.edu or by calling the Box Office at (660) 596-7387 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Wheelchair seating is available upon request.

So go and see a show and help a great cause, while having fun.

Shakespearily yours,
Behka
