State Fair Community College announces new campus visit options for prospective students and community members who want to visit the Sedalia or extended campus sites to learn more about the college. We wanted to be sure everyone knew when enrollment starts, and when you can come by and check out the campus for yourself.  The campus will close on December 17, but enrollment will start again on January 5.  Keep in mind, the enrollment period will only be  a week this semester.
Roadrunner Preview Days for high school juniors and seniors and their families will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on select dates from November through April. A free lunch will be provided. Visitors will get a close look at the admissions process and all aspects of college life, both academic and social.  High school counselors or teachers also may bring a group of students (10 maximum) to a preview day.  Thursday Tours are available to anyone interested in learning more about SFCC—individuals, families and groups of students (10 maximum). Visitors may choose either a 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. session to learn about SFCC’s programs and take a quick campus tour.

Adult Information Sessions for adult learners will be offered at 5:30 p.m. on select dates from November through April on the Sedalia campus. These informal group sessions are open to anyone who is considering returning to college, changing careers or exploring new interests.  Rowdie Junior Explorer Days are offered for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Field trips to SFCC are great opportunities to introduce younger students to the idea of exploring careers and education goals. Each trip is customized for the group’s age range and interests. Typically, visitors can take a tour, participate in hands-on activities led by SFCC staff and visit the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art.

I got to talk with Amanda Stoecklein, director of Admissions and Outreach, about enrollment and different ways you can get some education!
