Kids, there are a LOT of different things going on this weekend! It's gonna be a lot of fun and you'll have no excuse to be bored! Here's a quick list of everything we know of that's going down.

MO Kids Outdoors and the American Legion Post 642 present Fishing with a Vet at Clover Dell Park for their Field Day. 

Kids Field Day will be held at Clover Dell park on Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Fishing poles will be supplied by the Conservation Department.  Prizes will be provided by The Whitetails Banquet fundraiser along with Sedalia DQ Grill and Chill and Eagle Claw Fishing Products.   There will be fishing with Al Cox from Eagle Claw, Archery and tips from Pro Staff Shooters and lunch with the American Legion.  Catch some fish and meet some of the great people who protected this fine country of ours.   KIX 105 will be broadcasting live from the event.

 

The Green Ridge Harvest Fun Fest will be Saturday, September 22. 

It’ll be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Green Ridge Park.  The parade will be held at 10 a.m. with the line up behind the school at 9:30 a.m.  There will bef ood, games, crafts, Air Evac, Life Flight, Smokehouse, EMA,  silent auction, pie auction, tractor show, and a shine and show car show.  For more information, call Jim at 660-620-3944 or Barbara at 660-620-3485.

 

The Ward Memorial Baptist Church will have a Brisket Dinner. 

The church is located on Pettis and Osage in Sedalia and the event will take place September 22.  The donation is $8, and the dinner starts at 11:30 a.m.

 

There is Hope Christian Ministries will have their 13th annual Hog Roast and Pie Auction. 

It’ll be held on September 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $3.50 for kids 6-12, and free for kids under the age of 6.  They will be at the New Hope Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, in the basement.   They would appreciate anyone who would like to donate pies for the auction.  Proceeds will go the Maternity  Home and Pregnancy Help center.  For more information, call 826-1225.

 

The 2012 Missouri State Hog Rally will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in Sedalia. 

They start Friday afternoon with a bike show and band (open to the public) at Yeager’s Harley Davidson.  Then, Saturday, between 6-7 p.m. they will line up for the parade, which will go down Broadway to Ohio where there will be a free concert by Tyler Farr.  There will be beer gardens, food, and vendors.

 

Bethany Baptist Church will have their 5TH Annual Fall Bible Conference September 21—23.

The saints at Bethany Baptist Church of Sedalia invite you to our 2012 Fall Bible Conference. Joseph Braden, pastor of First Baptist Church in St. Peters, and former pastor of Bethany Baptist, will lead our Bible conference with a reminder of the basics of the faith.

The LaMonte school is going to have its Wild Wild West Carnival and Back to School Bash. 

It will be held on Saturday, September 22 at the Baseball/Softball area.  They will have a parade at 3 p.m.  From 4 to 7 p.m. they’ll have games.  There will be a basket auction from 7 p.m. and the crowning of royalty at 8, followed by a dance.

 

Queen of the Prairie Festival to take place in Downtown Sedalia.

Sedalia actors will dress as historical figures around downtown, such as Sedalia's founder, George Smith.  Bingo will take place at the Liberty Center.   A performance for "The Cowboy Ain't Dead Yet"  will take place at the corner of Fifth and Ohio at 11 a.m.  Spofest, a celebration of the spoken word, will take place in the Liberty Center Lobby from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Tyler Farr will perform that evening, at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Fifth and Ohio.  All these events are free.

 

Sedalia Regional Airport will have their Breakfast Fly in and Airshow.

The airshow and breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. with pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee.  Helicopter rides with KMBC's Johnny Rowlands will be available for only $40 a person.  Chris Cakes will be served, Young Eagle plane rides are free, hot dogs, chips, and pop will be available for purchase for lunch.  A special flyover from a Whiteman Air Force Base aircraft will begin at 11 a.m.

 

The State Fair Community College Booster Club will sponsor a golf tournament Sept. 22 at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall to benefit the men’s and women’s basketball programs.
The three-person scramble will begin at 9 a.m.  A $75 per person entry fee covers 18 holes of golf plus cart, lunch, and a gift. Mulligans may be purchased for $15 per team (one mulligan per person per 18 holes). Checks should be made payable to the SFCC Booster Club.  The tournament is sponsored by Peak Performance.  Entry forms are available at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center office on the Sedalia campus, online atwww.sfccmo.edu/boosterclub and at Peak Performance.
