There's certainly a lot going on this weekend!  Here's an overview of what you can see and do.

J.E.D.’s Swap Meet will be on September 20 – 22.

They’re located on 65 highway, one mile south of E52, the Cole Camp Junction.  Watch for the signs.  A vendor booth is $10 per day/per site, and primitive camping is available for $5 per night/per site.  Bring your pigeons, poultry, small animals, crafts and car parts.  No equine, bovine, or swine.  Sell or trade.  Concession stand provided.  Cost is $5 per day per vehicle to buy or look.  Gate hours on Friday and Saturday are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and then on Sunday the hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For more information, call Jeff Toliver at 660-287-4849.

The Great MO Garage Sale is scheduled for September 20- 21 in the Lowell Mohler on the MO State Fair Grounds (Gate 6).

Opening night will be held Friday, September 20th from 5:30 –8 p.m. A $5 admission fee allows you to shop early. The sale opens to the general public (free admission) on Saturday, September 21st at 8 a.m. Thousands of items have been collected over the past two years. New and like new items will be featured, everything from Easter to Christmas decorations, exercise equipment, office supplies, used clothing, household items and much more. The Bethany Baptist Church will have their 6th Annual Fall Bible Conference. 

The topic will be “Dark Stories from Genesis” and it’ll be held September 20 through 22.  Dr Rick Goertzen, pastor of the Grace Bible Church of Hutchinson, Kansas will lead the conference.  Each service will feature passionate, expository preaching, congregational singing, and special music.  The Sunday morning session will be followed by a fellowship dinner.  Friday and Saturday services begin at 6:00 p.m. The Sunday service begins at 9:30 a.m.  The conference is free and open to the public at the Bethany Baptist Church, 500 North Park Avenue.  For more information, visit www.bethanybaptistsedalia.org

The Inaugural Ridge Runner 5k Run/Walk is September 21. 

The registration begins that morning at 6:30 a.m. and the run begins at 8:00 a.m.  They’ll meet at the Green Ridge City Park.  The 5k run will go down and back on the Katy Trail (SW), and the 2.5 Fun Walk will go down and back on the Katy Trail (NE).  The registration fee is $20 and that includes a t-shirt if you register before September 9.  After September 9, the registration fee is $25, and does not include a t-shirt.  There will be prizes awarded, and several different divisions for runners.   Pickup your forms to register at Fringe Hair Salon or at Main Street Logo.  Make your checks to GRRO and mail the form and check to 31649 Hinken Road, Green Ridge 65332. All proceeds benefit the Green Ridge Recreation Organization.

The Our Savior Lutheran Church will host an Ice Cream Social and Auction.

It’ll take place at the church, 3700 West Broadway, on Saturday September 21 with the meal beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the live auction beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The meal will consist of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drink, ice cream and dessert for $5.  There will also be a silent auction.  The proceeds will help fund a seminary student scholarship and also help with church maintenance.

The Gospel Light Fellowship Church will host a pancake breakfast.

This is a fundraiser for the GLF Youth Mission Trip.  The event will be held on September 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  They’ll accept donations only.  You may have your choice of the following:  pancakes, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, french toast, cinnamon rolls, orange juice and coffee.  It will be held at the Gospel Light Fellowship Church, 1/2 mile east on McDaniel Road, across from Hot Spot.

The SFCC Roadrunner Booster Club Golf Tournament will be on September 21. 

The tournament format will be a three person scramble for a cost of $75 a person.  The fee includes 18 holes of golf and a cart, meal, and a gift.  There will be winning payouts and mulligans are available.  The proceeds will benefit the SFCC Roadrunner men’s and women’s basketball programs.  For more information, contact Josh Sash at jsash1@sfccmo.edu or call 660-596-7240.

The Green Ridge Harvest Fun Fest will be Saturday, September 21. 

It’ll be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Green Ridge Park.  The Parade starts at 10:00 a.m. They’ll have food, games, crafts, prince and princess contest, Air Evac, Life Flight, Smokehouse, EMA, silent auction, pie auction, tractor show, shine and show car show.  That night, Cedar Creek will also perform. The 3rd Annual Benefit Trail Ride Challenge will be on September 21.

All proceeds will go to the Therapeutic Riding Center of Cole Camp.  The event will start at 10:00 a.m.  at 26243 Benton Dr in Stover.  It’ll be a trail ride with six judged obstacles, a great meal and a chance to win prizes and cash.  There will be a paid entry of $30.  Helmets and boots are suggested.  No dogs.  Negative Coggins required.  A meal donation will be $10.  The special guest will be Matt Jobe.  For more information call Deb DaSilva at 573-377-4827.

The 8th Annual Sweet Springs Poker Run will take place on September 21. 

Bikes, buggies, cars, trucks and busses are welcome. Come bring your friends and have fun. All proceeds go to the Sweet Springs Food Pantry.  The Top Three will win prizes.  Registration is $25, that includes the ride, a t-shirt, and hat pin.  A second hand cost $15.  Begin at 213 Main Street in Sweet Springs and end at the Emma City park.  Check in time is 10:00 a.m. and 1st out will be 10:30 a.m.  Last out will be 11:00 a.m. and the last in will be 4:00 p.m.   For more information, call Melvin Taber at 660-815-2648 or Secretary, Laurie Eckhoff at 660-619-6329.
