Here's a look at some of the stuff going on this weekend. 

Gifts for Lifts will be on Friday, September 12.

Gifts for Lifts is a fundraiser happening on September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at America’s Car Mart in Warrensburg. It’ll be held to support WILS accessible transportation programs. They’ll serve lunch and have more information about the program. For more information, call WILS of Warrensburg at 660-422-7883.

On Friday, September 12 there will be a Blood Drive.

There will be a City of Warrensburg Police and Fire Blood Drive.  It’ll be on Friday, September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 445 East Gay Street, in the Conference Room.

The Johnson County Rodeo will take place September 12 and 13. 

They’ll have Mutton Busting and a Rodeo Queen Coronation, and on Saturday Chiefs Cheerleader Susie will be there with Warpaint.  Adult tickets are $10 if bought in advance, $12 at the gate.  For children aged 6-12, tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the gate.  5 and under get in for free.  Tickets are sold at Quarry City Savings and Loan, Elsberry Realty, Bi-Lo Country Mart, and Woods Supermarket.

There will be a Veteran's Appreciation Barbecue held on Saturday, September 13.

It'll begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m. on the Pettis County Courthouse Lawn. They'll be serving hamburgers, bratwurst, chips, dessert and drinks for  a free will donation.  Music by the Lee Stover Band and guest speaker will be Sgt  Major Ron Hellesvig of the Missouri Army National Guard.  Bring your lawn chairs, come early and stay late.

The 14th Annual My Car/Automotive Swap Meet is coming up. 

All makes of car, truck, motorcycle, antique and classic tractor, rat rods, race cars and race parts will be at the Missouri State Fairgrounds on September 12 and 13.  General admission is Saturday from 7:00 a.m. on for an entrance fee of $5.  14 and under get in for free.  Early bird shoppers can gain admittance on Friday at 12 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  They’ll have free parking, rest rooms, food concessions, and free on site hauling.  For more information, call Kevin at 660-596-3338.

New Hope Baptist Church will host a car show.

It will be held in the church parking lot, on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They'll have nineteen classes , kids activities, and door prizes, along with food.  Proceeds from the car show will be used to send children and teens to summer camp experiences.  For information, contact Chris at 221-2345.

The Patriotic Rally for America will be celebrating America’s Veterans and our exceptional-ism.

It’ll be held on Saturday, September 13 at the Benson Center in Clinton, beginning at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Ticket prices are $10 each and all proceeds will go to the Clinton Christian Academy.  The guest speaker will be Tim Barton from Aledo Texas.  For more information, call Tom and Sandra Spooner at 660-885-8439.

BRHC Presents the class "Labor and the Birthday Party" on Saturday the 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

From labor and delivery to caring for a newborn, breastfeeding and infant safety, Bothwell Regional Health Center educates parents on what to expect. Our three separate classes are designed to provide the information you need to get off to a good start with your newborn.  Classes are free, but preregistration is required.  Each class is taught by a nurse specially trained in pregnancy, labor, childbirth and parenting skills. Labor & the Birthday Party should be taken first. Taking Care of Your Newborn and Breastfeeding or Just Thinking About It can be taken in any order.  Sedalia classes are held in the Bothwell Education Center on the southeast corner of 14th and Ingram. Classes in Warsaw are held at Bothwell Health Center – Truman Lake, 1765 Commercial. Participants should dress comfortably and casually.  To enroll for classes, please print and complete the registration form, and mail as directed.  You also may e-mail your information to classes@brhc.org or call (660) 827-9138. Class sizes are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

The Sedalia Lions Club presents the 1st annual Compact Figure 8 Scramble and Tuff Truck Challenge.

It’ll be held on September 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the State Fair Arena on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  They’ll have a $20 entry fee per class, and $20 rider fee for the Figure 8 only.  General admission for adults is $8, and for kids 5-12 is $5.  A Pit Pass is available for $12.  For more information, contact Donnie Hunter at 660-596-5094 or Terri Hunter at 660-596-5093.

Raising the Cross is a free event sponsored by the Crossbow Ministries. 

The event will be held Saturday, September 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Liberty Park, near the Basketball Court.  Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the music of Life Muzik and Jamie Lynn.

The Hughesville Hook Ups are hosting  Pull for A Cure.

It’s an antique and classic tractor pull on September 13 at the Hughesville City park.  Pull starts at 1:00 p.m.  Concessions are available.  For more information, contact Kenny at 660-287-7767.  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Kids of all ages are invited to the Katy Depot Model Train Day.

The trains will be on display at the historic Katy Depot.The event will be on Saturday, September 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   The event is free and open to the public.  Bill and Terri Fowler will be on hand to tell about the train models they have set up for everyone to enjoy.

The True Vine Fellowship will have a fundraiser dinner.

It’ll be held on September 13 at the church, 600 North Moniteau in Sedalia from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a cost of $8.  Dinner includes  chicken or brisket and two sides.  Sides include macaroni and cheese, potato salad, green beans, baked beans, sweet potatoes, slaw, roll and dessert.  For more information, contact WT Morris, Pastor at 660-826-2924.
