With the warmer weather and summer vacations starting for kids in the area, families look forward to outdoor activities. Area swimming pools are getting ready to open their doors to the public.

Liberty Park and Centennial Park will both open their swimming pools to the community on May 28 at one o'clock in the afternoon, according to Kari Tyler, Recreation Superintendent for Sedalia Parks and Recreation.

Both pools will open Sunday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with Friday and Saturday hours being between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Special events that are slated for this summer will include Evening Swims July 6 and July 27, Swimming Under the Stars is scheduled for July 8 and August 5, the Annual Dive-In Movie will take place July 15 and the season will end with their Doggie Dive, with all proceeds to benefit the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
