A public planning session will take place October 24, to gather input about the future park to be located in Downtown Sedalia.

A press release from SDDI, says The City of Sedalia, the Parks Department, the Central Business & Cultural District, and Sedalia Downtown Development, Inc, is hosting the public meeting at the Municipal Building, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The future-park will be located at 2nd Street, between Ohio Ave and Osage Ave.

The Sedalia Park Board approved an initial start-up cost, not to exceed $100,000 for the new project, at the board meeting in July 2017.

This October 24 meeting is a way to gather public input from area groups, organizations, and residents for various uses for the park.

The press release states, the vision of the organizers is to provide a space to accommodate a diverse community of people that work and live and visit The Avenues of Downtown Sedalia.

The public meeting will last about 2 hours.
