I’m Racking My Brain To Come Up With Stuff To Do On My Vacation

Coming up in May, I'm taking a short vacation! I'm going to Chicago again! I'm primarily going to go to a concert, but I'm also going to hang with a friend of mine.  I'm lucky to have my friend Heather who lives in Chicago, and is happy to put me up for a few days.  Hotel expenses, poof!  The deal basically is, Heather lets me stay for free with her, and I buy her a concert ticket.  It's worked out pretty well in the past.  We've seen Paul McCartney live and a few others.

So obviously my Saturday night is planned out (It was very stressful to get the tickets, btw.  Sold out 60,000 seats in something like a half an hour). And I'm going to want to see a couple of other friends up in the area, and if Heather wants to do something, I'll do that.  She knows all the ins and outs of where is the best in terms of restaurants and also about cool stuff to do.  After all, she's lived there for at least ten years. But I don't want her to have to babysit me for four days.  In past trips she's had to work and I've just gone out and about by myself.  There's a lot to do in Chicago, after all.

I think the first time I went was in High School, and I've probably been maybe... five or six times total.  So I've seen a lot of the big stuff.  I've been to the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, Wrigley Field, Museum of Contemporary Art, Second City,  Millennium Park, the Navy Pier, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Skydeck, etc.  So I've hit most of the big marks when it comes to tourism stuff.

So this time, I'm going to try to find something a little different to do.  I'm open to suggestions if you have any, by the way.   But one thing I think I want to do is a Crime Tour.  These things are totally awesome, I've been on one here in Sedalia.  And, I went on a guided private tour twice in New York City, so this one in Chicago, with all the gangster history, should be very intriguing.

One other thing I want to try is to go to the Museum of Broadcast Communications.  It's too bad that I can't go Now, since they're doing a special exhibit on Saturday Night Live til the end of March.  But I figure it should be interesting anyway, given my job.

But I might go to some places I've been before.  Maybe I'll go to the Second City again. Maybe I'll just roam the streets and see where it takes me.  Don't worry, it's not like I'll have any money or anything, so window shopping might actually be fun.
