Fall is here, so that means festival season is unfortunately coming to a close. It's okay though, because it means we will have even more time to be prepared for the warm concert filled trips to come next year!

A few weeks ago, I went on my first major festival trip to see Tomorrowworld. It is an EDM festival. I traveled from land to sea all the way through the mountains and stormy hills to a little state called Georgia. Okay, it wasn't that bad. It was just mainly highway. This was with a few close friends and we were in even closer cars. Yes they were tiny Chevys. A Chevy Cobalt and Chevy Malibu to be in fact. I rode in the Cobalt.

I have no regrets on this adventure,  except for over packing. Yes that can happen. Also, over packing the wrong items. I have learned the hard way it is best to keep it simple. So I thought I would share the few things I have learned from this experience with all of you. So you will be more prepared than me and have an awesome first festival experience.

Here are my top ten Items and tips to bring to a festival.

  1. Hand sanitizer- Trust me this will be a life saver. There are thousands of dirty, drunk people who don't know how to use a porta potty correctly.
  2.  Baby wipes- On the porta potty note. For some reason there is never any toilet paper. So these are a life savor for that and showers are rare so take a baby wipes shower. lol
  3.  Toilet paper- Obvious reasons
  4. First Aid kit- You never know when you will need it. I got a horrible blister for days. There are usually medical tents, but having your own is nice.
  5.  Dry shampoo- Guys or girls. If you are taking baby wipe showers, dry shampoo will make your hair look brand new. It takes away the oil and grease and makes it easier to style without it looking dirty.
  6. Food- They will have food there, but will charge you out the butt for it. So over pack on food. Make it simple for your first time. Sandwich items, protein bars, snack food. Mainly things that will fill you up and give you energy.
  7. Sleeping bag- This is way better than trying to haul all of your bedding for miles. Trust me a sleeping bag is way better than a huge trash bag.
  8.  Backpack- Try to minimize everything to one backpack and maybe a duffle bag. I am talking about your clothes and toiletry items ladies. I brought a rolling suitcase. Yes the largest size I had and I only wore a fourth of the clothing inside. If you are questioning yourself before you even pack if you are going to wear it you probably aren't going to. Trust me. Simple is better.
  9.  Trash bags- This will help you keep your campsite clean and you can put your dirty clothes in a bag!
  10. Ice- Ice will be expensive so bring your own and a cooler. People even use dry ice so it will last longer, but be careful!

I hope this helps for the months ahead. I had a great time none the less and made awesome memories I will cherish forever. I plan to attend many more in my life time. Its the new age of Woodstock and I will not be missing out on History. Maybe I will see you at one.  Tomorrowworld had over 100,000 people in attendance,  I guess that explains why there was no toilet paper. Chow for now.
