The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announced next year's six inductees last night.  Check 'em out. . .

1.  Lou Reed . . . who passed away last year in October.  He was inducted as part of the Velvet Underground in 1996, so this is for his solo work.

2.  Green Day.  This was the first year they were eligible, and Billie Joe Armstrong said he had to go for a walk when he heard the news, to take it in.

3.  Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.  Stevie Ray Vaughan is the Texas blues guitarist who's considered one of the best and most influential players ever . . . even though he had a pretty short career, and died in a helicopter crash in 1990.

4.  Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

5.  Bill Withers . . . the guy who did "Lean on Me"and "Just the Two of Us".

6.  The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

Ringo Starr will get the 'Award For Musical Excellence'.  He's in the Hall already as part of the Beatles, obviously . . . but all three other Beatles are in there as solo artists too.

And finally, an R&B group from the 50's called the "5" Royales will get the 'Early Influence Award.'  Their most famous song was "Dedicated To The One I Love".

So looking at this list, I see a lot of rock music - which, you know, I get. It is the "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame, but they've included so many other genres of music into the Hall, like Country or Rap or Folk, etc etc.  This list isn't very eclectic.  What do you think?  Which singer, band, or group would be in YOUR Hall of Fame?  Let me know what you think and we'll talk about it on the air!

Votingly yours,
Behka
