Eleven people were injured in a two-car crash that occurred in Johnson County Sunday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Tamatha L. Duncan of Warrensburg was the driver of a northbound 2001 Mercury Mountaineer on Missouri Route 58 at Route O at 6:50 p.m. when she failed to stop for a stop sign, and drove into the path of a westbound 2001 Ford Expedition driven by 33-year-old Jeffery J. Hoover of Holden.

The Expedition struck the right rear of the Mountaineer and both vehicles traveled off the roadway and overturned.

Duncan suffered serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center. Her passengers, 19-year-old James H. Beck and 15-year-old Rylan J. Beck, both of Blairstown, had minor injuries and were also taken to Research.

Eight people in the Expedition, all from Holden, were injured in the wreck and transported to medical facilities.

Jeffery Hoover suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Truman Medical Center. 30-year-old Holly N. Hoover suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Truman.

The rest of the passengers in the Expedition suffered minor injuries and were all taken to Children's Mercy Hospital for treatment, including 12-year-old Zoey Hoover, 11-year-old Cooper Brotherton, 7-year-old Lexi Brotheron, 6-year-old Isabelle Brotherton, 2-year-old Enoch Hoover and infant Legacy Hoover.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

Johnson County deputies assisted the Patrol.
