I've been hosting our morning show for a while now, and you guys are getting really good at our movie trivia game, Movie Ponderance.  Well now, you're gonna have even more ways to win great stuff with some new games!

I was thinking that doing movie trivia is great, but what if that's just not your thing?  Maybe you're a foodie or a music nut.  Or maybe you're just not that specific.  Well now, I've got some other great ways to win with some new games.

Every day at  8:00 a.m., right after your Headlines in Sixty Seconds, we'll play a game. One that we're going to do on Mondays and Wednesdays is called "Yes or BS", and it's probably what you're thinking.  I'll have a topic, and then five true or false statements.  You call in and identify three out of the five correctly, and you'll win free stuff! Here's a little sample of what you'll be listening for:

I give you a statement, and you decide "YES, it's true,"  or "NO, it's total B.S." Today's theme is "SNL hosts."

1.  Alec Baldwin has hosted more times than anyone else, and Steve Martin is second.

Yes:  Alec has hosted 16 times, most recently in 2011.  Steve is second with 15, then John Goodman with 13.

2.  Steve Martin hosted the first episode of "Saturday Night Live" in 1975.

B.S.  It was George Carlin.  And there were two musical guests.  Billy Preston and Janis Ian. And Andy Kaufman performed his "Mighty Mouse" lip sync routine.)

3.  Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani hosted the first episode of "SNL" after 9/11.

B.S.  Reese Witherspoon hosted, but Giuliani did appear at the beginning of the show with a bunch of New York City firefighters.  The only time he HOSTED was in 1997.

4.  Richard Pryor was the first host to have a few seconds DELAY, meaning the show wasn't actually live.

Yes:  It was the seventh episode of the first season in 1975.

5.  Tom Cruise set an all time ratings record for "SNL" when he hosted in 1994.

B.S.  Tom Cruise has never hosted.

See? Pretty easy.  We'll have a different pop culture topic each time, and all ya gotta do is get three right!
A game we'll be doing on Thursdays will be about something everybody loves: Food. This game is called Name That Food.  I'll give you a name for a dish you may or may not have heard of. Then, I'll list four ingredients, and you tell me which one IS in that dish.  For example, here's your dish: Camembert Pâté.Here's the four ingredients:
Thyme, Cream, Paprika, Lemon Juice.
Three of those aren't in the dish, but which one is?  CREAM.  For this delicious cheesy recipe you will also need butter, Tabasco sauce, shallots, salt, pepper and cheese of course. It is an easy but effective pâté which you can use while talking to your friends. And now we know!

Our next game will be on Tuesdays. It's called Music Trivia Master.  I'm gonna ask you a question about some of the artists we play here on BOB.  Then you'll get a choice of four answers, and you call in and tell me which one you think is correct.  Here's a sample question: Which Rod Stewart song tells the story of a teenage couple from Istanbul who elopes and has a baby?

Young Turks, Downtown Train, How Long, or People get Ready?

That one's pretty easy: Young Turks.

And don't forget we'll still be doing Movie Ponderance every morning about 7:30 a.m.  That game is pretty straightforward, I'll give you about five clues to a well known movie.  The clues start hard, and get easier.  You call in when you think you know what the movie is, and you'll win a free pizza from Papa Murphys!  Here's the M.P. we did yesterday:

1.  The leading men are actually smoking an illegal substance on camera - not cigarettes.

2.  The film was co-written and directed by the actor who played Billy.

3.  The character named Captain America explains "Dude means nice guy".

4.  The soundtrack includes "Born to be Wild".

5.  Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson are on motorcycles.

Easy, right?  Literally, it  was "Easy Rider."  So now you've got chances every day to win prizes and goodies from 92.3 BOB-FM in the morning show.  I'd suggest you get your mind sharp and your dialing fingers warmed up.

Listen next week for your chance to win, that's when we'll start these new games.  Put the number in your phone: 826-9210.

Gamely yours,

Behka
