A 41-year old man from California, MO was arrested Monday after Moniteau County authorities conducted a traffic stop and located methamphetamine.

A press release from the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office says deputies conducted the traffic stop in Clarksburg, MO for a license plate violation.

Upon contact with the driver, identified as 41-year old Frederick A. Ziehmer, deputies learned he was on probation for Possession of Controlled Substance.

Deputies reportedly asked for a consent to search the vehicle, which Ziehmer denied.

A K-9 unit was then deployed and gave a positive alert for drugs inside the vehicle. Deputies then located methamphetamine which appeared to be packaged for sale and paraphernalia.

Ziehmer was arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail for Possession//Distribution of a Controlled Substance (meth). Bond was set at $45,000.00.
