Bothwell Wound Healing Center has been awarded the prestigious 2023 President’s Circle award by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The center also received the Center of Distinction and Robert A. Warriner III, Clinical Excellence awards for 2023.

Bothwell Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network of wound care centers. The three awards signify the center has achieved high standards and surpassed key performance indicators for patient satisfaction and wound healing rates.

Of the 630 Healogics wound centers across the United States, there are only 30 President’s Circle awardees in 2023, and Bothwell is the only center in Missouri to achieve the distinction.

Marvin Smoot, Clinic Operations vice president at Bothwell Regional Health Center, said while the center has achieved the Center of Distinction or Center of Excellence award seven times, this is the first time the center has been awarded the President’s Circle award.

“It’s evident our wound center team takes high-quality patient care seriously, year after year,” Smoot said. “To be recognized consistently for their performance shows their commitment and dedication to providing the best possible treatment and care for their patients. We are elated that they have been named a President’s Circle award wound center."

Dr. Jeff Wadley, Dr. Trevor Beckham and Nurse Practitioner Gail Meyer offer highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced wound care treatments provided by the medical team include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.

Christy Goalder, RN, Wound Healing Center director, said she is proud of everyone who works at the center for achieving these honors.

“The physicians and team work hard to create a team approach to caring for and healing their patients,” she said. “Quality care with high healing rates and patient satisfaction rates are what we all strive for every day. Each patient is paired with a case manager to ensure their needs are met, including testing, medications and home care. We also work with patients’ primary care providers to help heal their wounds."

People do not need a referral from their physician to be seen by the wound healing team. For more information, call 660-827-2525.
