Donating blood is a simple, effective way to help out people in all kinds of different walks of life.  You don't need to have a lot of money or time to do it, and you know it's something that will be used to save lives. The Warrensburg Police and Fire Department’s Battle for Blood will be on Thursday June 26th from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at the Warrensburg Community Center. This is a friendly competition between the police and fire departments to see which group can bring in more donors. The Community Blood Center will provide Community Star t-shirts for donors as well as buy one get one free vouchers to Schlitterbahn Water Park while the supply of vouchers last. They'll have Papa Murphy’s fresh, hot, tasty pizza for donors too!
The drive is also in honor of MSHP Cpl Michael E Webster in celebration of his life, his dedication as a donor, and as a law enforcement officer.  The blood supply is critically low so we need to have a great turn out to get the blood supply back to a safe level. I got to talk with Tom Carey, one of the organizers of the event, about the details.

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is asking all eligible blood donors to make a life-saving blood donation NOW to help replenish our community blood supply – which has reached a critically low level.  The need is especially urgent for type O negative blood, the only blood type that can be safely transfused to all patients.  The Warrensburg Police and Fire Department’s Battle for Blood will be on Thursday June 26th from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at the Warrensburg Community Center. Join in the fight and save some lives today!

Donatingly yours,
Behka
