I went to school in Green Ridge, moved to Nixa my junior year and graduated from there in 1983. I love hunting and fishing, and I fished professionally for bass and crappie for eight years. I started shooting archery for Bowhunters Pro Shop in the 80s and 90s, and moved back to Sedalia in 1993. I started MoKids Outdoors in 2004 to get kids more involved with outdoor activities. I've been hosting the Huntin' and Fishin' with Harry show for six years, and I love being back in central Missouri. I have three sons, a wife and a grandson. Thanks for checkin' me out!

Huntin’ Harry’s Turkey Hunting Tips for Youth
We're back on the weather roller coaster, 20s and 30s through the first part of the week and then back to 50s and 60s. I know one thing, I'm ready for spring crappie fishing, turkey killin', 3D shootin', campin' and fishin'. Man, that's what's coming right around the corner. We'll be posting fishing reports starting in April along with tournament dates. So get a new line on those reels and kno
Huntin’ Harry at the Deer Classic 2013 in Columbia
The snow is melting and the temperature is starting to rise. I'm about ready for some old fashioned thunderstorms with steady rain through the week, then sunny on the weekend followed by more rain. That would do me fine.
The Ups and Down of Winter Storms
Winter finally made a big encore performance and it was a blessing. It may be a pain and we may complain about it, but the farmers and lakes really need the water. I think this added about three inches of moisture to the ground with both storms combined. We are still well below the norm, but every little bit helps. The storm brought a lot of trees down and left a lot of people without power.
Cabin Fever Sports Show Success, More 3D and Turkey Shoots On the Way
Wow, what a weekend! The 2013 Cabin Fever Sports Show last weekend was awesome. Thanks a lot to all of the vendors who participated, and a special thanks to you, the attendees. We had double the attendance as the previous year, and we collected 272 pounds of food for the food pantry. What a great way to have some fun and do some good at the same time.
Here’s What You Can Expect at the 2013 Cabin Fever Sports Show
It's sports show time! The 2013 Cabin Fever Sports Show will kick off (no Super Bowl pun intended) on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. and run through 8 p.m. We'll be back out there until 3 p.m. on Sunday so you can get back home in time for the Super Bowl (where the Ravens will win by 7).
Whitetails Unlimited Banquet Almost Sold Out, Win Tickets Here
Finally some snow and cold! It looks like winter went to the woods and sat before and during the snow this week. The deer didn't mind, and I thought it was awesome. The woods were quiet with the occasional shot during the second youth weekend. The deer were moving and I saw several small bucks, but not the shooter I wanted. The does wouldn't get close enough for my liking.
Wounded Warriors Travel to Sedalia to Hunt
Youth season was a success, with four out of the six kids we took out harvesting their first deer. We still have the second youth season to go, so I'm sure we'll get them back in the woods.
Last week we told you about Wounded Warrior Eric Stadler. We'll be taking him out hunting this morning just before seven more Wounded Warriors arrive in Sedalia for the first Wounded Warrior hunt in Pettis Co
Wounded Warrior and Quadriplegic Eric Statler Going Deer Hunting This Weekend
I was honored to take out one of our Wounded Warrior veterans to the range. Eric Statler is a quadriplegic who is paralyzed from the neck down. We took him to sight in his deer rifle at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club.
Youth Hunt Planned for This Weekend, Wounded Warriors Hunt Coming Soon
Youth deer season starts this weekend, and it's going to be awesome. The rut is starting and even though the weather is a little warmer than I like, it's my favorite time of year to hunt.
