Debra Andresen has been announced as the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce's new executive director.

She succeeds previous director Angie Thompson Smith, who recently resigned to take
a job in Warsaw.

Andresen's official start date is Thursday, Nov. 1.

Andresen is a 1993 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She is a graduate of State Fair Community College, obtaining AAS degrees in Office Management and Marketing Retail. Debra and Rick, her husband of 25 years, have four children as well as guardianship of their niece and nephew.

Andresen first began with the Sedalia Chamber in 2011 as the Office Manager. She has stepped up in many roles for the organization as she filled the position of Interim Executive Director twice. Debra has organized many Chamber events. She has proven to be dedicated to the goals and mission of the Chamber, said Chamber President John Meehan.

"Hiring someone with Debra's experience and talent is a clear example of the board's desire to provide direct and indirect quality benefits to all our members. We currently have 290 Chamber members and we are positive Debra is going to play a major role in helping those numbers grow. We sincerely appreciate all those individuals who applied for the position, but Debra stood out for her experience and ability to create and expand relationships with members," Meehan said in a press release.

Andresen can be reached at (660) 826-2222 or Debra@sedaliachamber.com.
